WiFi Odds for Flights browser extension and the wifiodds.com website

The short version: no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, no cookies, and no
server of our own. Nothing about you is collected, stored, sold, or shared — by the extension or by
this site. The only network requests the extension makes on your behalf are anonymous route or
flight-number lookups to public community trackers.
What the extension does
It shows the historical probability that a given flight is operated by an aircraft with modern
high-speed satellite WiFi (Starlink, Amazon Leo) rather than legacy service — as colour-coded badges on
airline search results, and as a ConnectScore in its popup.
Data collection: none
The extension and this website do not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal
information. There are no analytics, no tracking pixels, no accounts, no sign-in, and no server we
operate that receives your data.
What actually happens
Reading pages, locally. When you view a flight search on united.com,
alaskaair.com, or Navan, the extension reads the route and flight numbers already
displayed on the page you are on. That parsing happens entirely in your browser; nothing about the page
is uploaded anywhere.
Odds lookups. To attach odds to a flight, the extension requests statistics from the public
APIs of the independent community trackers
unitedstarlinktracker.com and
alaskastarlinktracker.com.
Those requests contain only a route (for example "DEN to SFO"), or a flight number and a date. They
contain no personal information, no booking details, no passenger names, no fare or payment data, and
nothing that identifies you or your account.
Caching, locally. Responses are cached for about six hours in your browser's local extension
storage, alongside a small number of UI preferences (panel collapsed, keep-sorted, and whether you have
enabled Alaska support). This data never leaves your machine, and clearing the extension's storage or
uninstalling it removes it.
Selector updates. Roughly once a day the extension fetches a small configuration file from
wifiodds.com that describes where the relevant elements sit on the airline pages, so a site
redesign does not break it. That request carries no data about you beyond what any web request
necessarily reveals (your IP address, to the hosting provider), and it is not logged or joined to
anything.
This website. wifiodds.com is a static site served by Cloudflare Pages. It sets no cookies,
runs no analytics, and embeds no third-party scripts or trackers. Cloudflare processes standard,
short-lived request logs as our hosting provider; we neither read nor retain them.
Permissions, and why each one exists
united.com content script — to display odds badges on United search results.
alaskaair.com (optional) — off by default. Grant it only if you want Alaska badges; the
extension registers that content script at the moment you enable it, and stops when you revoke it.
Navan content script — to display badges on Navan corporate-travel search results.
unitedstarlinktracker.com, alaskastarlinktracker.com — to fetch route and flight statistics.
wifiodds.com — the daily selector-configuration file described above.
storage — the local cache and preferences described above.
activeTab — so the popup can read the route of the tab you invoke it on.
scripting — to register the optional Alaska content script when, and only when, you grant
that permission.
Children
The extension and the site are general-audience tools that collect no data at all, and therefore
collect no data from children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the effective date above changes with it and the previous version stays
in the public git history of the repository below.
